He is survived by: his children, Karen Winans (Bob) and Charles; his grandchildren, Michelle Hammond (Doug), Joni Sands, Scott Murphy (Natasha) and Kimberly Morabito (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Noah, J. D. Hammond, Morgan Sands, Brianna, Madisun Murphy and Ella Morabito; and his adoptive daughter Kathryn Hewitt.
