It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gloria M. Payne of Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on October 10, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Tony Marquette and Rosalyn Marquette (Susie); her husband Carl Payne; her sisters, Mary Jane Carrico (Cliff) and Lorrayne Mc Gee (James); and her grandson Austen Wesley Moore.
She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Fragale (Dean); her sibling's children, Joann Gabel (Paul), Jane Dennie (John), Dr. David Mc Gee (Madison), Mark Carrico, Jaime Cupp (Phil) and Abi Oyewole (Andrea); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jason Gabel, Melissa Terry, Lora White, Marin Rogers, Kaelyn Feliciano, Braydon Dennie, Leesa Ice, Marissa Ice and Sophie Cupp.
Due to the coronavirus, a private funeral service will be held for the family on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm which will be live-streamed for all to view.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Austen Moore Scholarship Fund, 301 Davis Street, Elkins, WV, 26241 or Davis & Elkins College, 100 Campus Drive, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Dr. Payne.
