He is survived by: his brothers, Johnny Vest of Belington, Jimmy Vest (Freda) of Belington and Earl Vest (Wanda) of Elkins; his half-siblings, Paul Thorne of Florida and Misty Thorne of Philippi; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn V. Everson (Allan Teter) of Circleville and Ricky Joe Everson of Philippi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
