She was predeceased by : her parents, John Frederick and Lola Frederick (O'Dell); her husband Herman Harley Sims; and her brothers, Carl Frederick, Harlen Frederick, Orville Frederick and Lawrence Blair Frederick.

She is survived by : her children, Janice Powell (Warren) of Raleigh, N. C., Joyce Conrad (Keith) of Fairmont, Kathy Lupo of Metz and Herman Sims (Stephanie Graham-Sims) of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Chris Powell (Kathleen), Douglas Powell (Ashley), Abigail Powell, Kathryn Goins (David), Amanda Oldaker (Josh), Ian Lupo (Kaitlin), Ashley Lupo (Andrew King), Savannah Sims (Drew Calandrelli) and Hunter Sims; her great grandchildren, Avery Powell, Connor Powell, Isabella Powell, Hailey Powell, Jayden Goins, Tabitha Goins, Caleb Oldaker, Gracen Oldaker and Eila Jane Lupo; and her sisters-in-law, Cleo Frederick and Dorothy Frederick. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
