We are sad to announce that on April 23, 2024, at the age of 84, Linda Jean Meeks of Barrackville, West Virginia, born in Rachel, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John T. Darcus and Sarah M. Bolden Darcus; her granddaughter Brittany K. Meeks; her daughter Michelle Flowers; and her siblings, Joan E. Mackey (Millard), Barbara Jo Callahan (Wilson), Helen Prickett, Deborah Bland Neil, Charles E. Darcus and William Guin.

She is survived by : her children, Roy L. Meeks III of Barrackville, Avis J. Meeks of Charlotte, NC, Terry G. Meeks (Holly) of Barrackville, Cynthia E. Darcus of Fairmont, Helen K. Darcus of Barrackville, Moronica Darcus Fortner (Wes) of Alabama and John T. Darcus of Lancaster, PA; her grandson Christopher J. Meeks of Fairmont; her children, Tiaa Ferrebee, Sarah L. Ferrebee of Morgantown and Dezmond L. Meeks of Fairmont; her great grandchildren, Aiden Clark and Kinsley Ferrebee; her brother Clarence "Ted" Darcus (Rosanne) of Lancaster, PA; her sister-in-law Doris Darcus of Tennessee; her close friends, Patricia Smith, Julia Turner and Carol J. Suggs; her niece Johnna Locust Tolliver (Bay); and her nephew Sean Locust Callahan. She is also survived by her niece and nephew.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hutson Funeral Home (3171 Husky Hwy, Farmington, WV 26571). The lying in state was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Good Hope Baptist Church (433 School St, Barrackville, WV 26559). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
