It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Cecil Thompson of Fort Gay, West Virginia, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ercel Thompson and Ferbia Copley Thompson; his wife Wanda Lee Dean Thompson; his children, Gwendolyn Jean Thompson-Fetherolf and William "Leroy" Thompson; his brothers, Abner Odell, Jennings Milroy, Robert Glen and Annias Franklin Thompson; his daughter-in-law Melissa Sue Thompson; and his stepgrandson Paris Anthony Robertson.
He is survived by: his sons, John Clinton Thompson (Sandra) of Genoa and Jeffery Cecil Thompson (Robin) of Huntington, WV; and his grandchildren, Tina, Erica (Wade), Jonathan, Megan (Todd), Amanda (Chris), Jason (Allison), William (Pham), Nathan (Brooke) and Avery. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
