She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest H. Spaid and Stella Seldon Spaid; and her siblings, E. Olan Spaid, Guy W. Spaid and Christine Prentice.
She is survived by: her husband Howard L. Oakes; her children, Ernest H. "Ernie" Oakes of Vero Beach, FL, Jeffrey H. Oakes of Vero Beach, FL, Eric L. Oakes of Walkersville, MD and Lynne O. Babcock of Clarksburg, MD; and her brother Harry R. Spaid of High View, WV. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
