He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell G. Sr. Gwinn and Ina Marie Lilly Gwinn; his brother Jimmy Gwinn; and his sister-in-law Betty Gwinn. He is survived by: his children, Tommy Gwinn of Blacksburg, VA, Russell Gwinn, III of Cashmere, WV, Jesse Gwinn of Christiansburg, VA, Cynthia Gwinn of Christiansburg, VA, Carrie Lyons of Christiansburg, VA, Stacy Merriman of Christiansburg, VA and Taylor Whitteker of Princeton, WV; and his brother Roy Gwinn (Kathleen) of Swanton, OH. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
