He was predeceased by : his parents, Okey Greathouse and Ada Delaney Greathouse; and his siblings, Roger Greathouse, Josephine Saville and Betty Lowe.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Postlethwait Greathouse; his children, Homer Greathouse Jr. "Bo" of Hundred, Henry Greathouse of Littleton, Wendy Spencer of Littleton, Pamela K. Himelrick of Hundred and Barbara Ann Higgins of Saganaw, Alabama; and his siblings, Johnny Greathouse of Littleton and Lorna Greathouse of Fairmont.
