He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Welch and Edna Marie Smith Welch; his sons, Mitchell Eric Welch and Woodrow "Trey" Welch; his sisters, Phyllis James and Rose Eversole; and his brother-in-law Charles Eversole.
He is survived by: his wife Clores Ann Files Welch; and his nephew Michael Jenkins.
