It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Juanita (Kretzer) Chafin (Kenova, West Virginia), born in Van Lear, Kentucky, who passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wesley Kretzer and Nannie Kretzer (Cartmell). She is survived by: her spouse Rev. H. Thomas "Tom" Chafin; her son Rev. David T. Chafin of Eaton Township; her siblings, Clarence, William (Dolly Crossen), Josephine, Beatrice (Mordecai Eagleston), Robert (Alice Connell) and Homer (Maxine Ramey); her granddaughters, Leslee Elisabeth (Jeremy Martin) and Anne (Dennis Schmidt); her great grandchildren, Madelyn, Lillia, Emmelia, Desmond, Caleb, Jacob and Gracie; and her stepgrandchildren, Scott Waggoner (Elizabeth), Christie (Ben Needham), Len, Rosemary, William, Isaac and Erik. She is also survived by family and a few close friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to any responsible mission of care for children or animals in her memory.
