He was predeceased by : his parents, Fullie Knisley and Mary Knisley (Wahn); his brother Davis L. Knisley; his son David S. Knisley; and his grandson Brandon L. Knisley.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Knisley (Sloat); his children, Paul Knisley (April), John Knisley (Lisa), James Knisley (Michele), Phillip Knisley (Tammy), Joseph Knisley, Miriam Polley (Mark) and Joanne Knisley; his daughter-in-law Misty Knisley; his grandchildren, Blayn Knisley and Weston (Krystle); his children, Whitney (Aaron), Dustin Knisley and Tonya (Aaron); and his sister Esther Royce.
