He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellery Shanklin Erskine and Dorothy Mae Morgan Erskine; his former wife Judy Kay Shaver Erskine; and his niece Debbie Hoke Kirk. He is survived by: his wife Frances G. Mullins Erskine; his sister Phyllis Hoke (James); his stepdaughters, Jennifer Woodyard (John) and Jessica Hale; his sibling's children, Jamie Hoke and Amy Nutter (Andy); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Hayden, John Luke Hoke, Amick, Andrew and Asher Nutter. He is also survived by four step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren.
