He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Orville and Madeline Lawrence Canterbury; and his siblings, Wilma, Bill and Christine.

He is survived by : his wife Darlena Casdorph Canterbury; his children, Jane Igo (Alfred) of Williamstown, Joan Brodt (Jim) of Clover and Michael Canterbury of Charleston; and his sister Mary C. Cales of Parkersburg. He is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great -grandchildren.
