He was predeceased by: his brothers, James K. Artis, Sr. and Mark S. Artis. He is survived by: his sisters, Judy Holton of Washington, DC, Rita Russell of Harrisonburg, VA, Margaret (Artis), Ira Becks, Jr. of Harrisonburg, VA, Susan (Artis) and Kenneth Venable of Staunton, VA; and his children, David A. Artis, Jr., Tyesha Colbert, Kevin Mobley, Sean Artis, James Robinson and David Robinson. He is also survived by grandchildren, several nephews & nieces and many friends.
