He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E. Golliday and Josephine M. Kitchen Golliday; and his siblings, Henry E. Golliday and Catherine Kramerage. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Butts Golliday; his children, James Golliday, II, Crystal Golliday (Tim Alger), Mark Golliday and Rhonda Gardner (William Gardner); his grandchildren, William Duke III, Mark, Jr. (Kendra) of Washington, Zachary Duke (Katie), Cody Golliday (Christina), Taylor Duke, Alexis Miller (Matt), Tamiera of Washington and Seith Golliday (Kaira); his great grandchildren, Jaxon Peters, Benjamin Duke, Skye of Washington, Mekai Commer, Lucille Traversy and Hayden Miller; and his brothers, Doug and Larry Golliday.
