She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernie C. Gill and Margaret J. Knapp Gill; her sister Joyce Ratliff; and her sister-in-law Bernice Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Axel James Cales and Amber B. Cales; and her siblings, Donald Thompson of Taylorsville, NC and Melissa Dotson of Hinton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
