She was predeceased by: her parents, Elton W. Flanagan, Sr. and Freda Mae Henry (Nethken); her husband Robert Kirkendall; her stepfather Reese Henry; and her sisters, Betty Cook and Josephine Flanagan.

She is survived by: her brother Elton W. "Sonny" Flanagan, Jr. (Rose); her nieces, Pam Smith, Mona Taylor, Luci Denjen, Tammy Flanagan and Debbie Seale; and her friend Kim Freeland.
