He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Simpkins and Ruby Amie Simpkins; and his siblings, Ester Mae Simpkins and William Simpkins. He is survived by : his wife Joan A. Burns Simpkins; his son Stevie Simpkins of Illinois; and his sisters, Stella Forman (Ray) of Bruceton Mills and Millie Gibson (Lloyd Wiles) of Morgantown. He is also survived by several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
