It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Pierce Jr. of New Martinsville, West Virginia, who passed away on October 1, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John A. Pierce, Sr. and Irene Pierce McKenzie (Suprena); his siblings, David Pierce and Nancy Matucci; and his stepfather Kip McKenzie.

He is survived by : his wife Lillian Pierce (Beatty); his children, Kerrie Pierce (Paul Muskopf) and Jesse Pierce of Charlottesville, VA; his brothers, Frank Pierce (Sue) of Hopedale, MA, Paul Pierce of Boston, MA and Kenn Hitt (Nancy) of Albuquerque, NM; his siblings-in-law, David Beatty (Barbara) of Pine Grove, WV and Nettie Herrick (Keith) of New Martinsville, WV; and his close friend Abbie. He is also survived by Dog and Alfie; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
