He was predeceased by: his father Charles Elmer; his grandson Billy Hector; his son-in-law Michael Davis; and his siblings, Delbert Knotts, Dennis Knotts, Prentice Knotts, Phyllis Cathell and Dee Solar.
He is survived by: his stepmother Grace Wolfe Knotts; his wife Betty Jean Jenkins Knotts; and his children, Cathy Ramsel, Robert of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth Duane Knotts, Anita, Baltimore, MD and Phyllis J Frazier. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
