He was predeceased by : his parents, William Lantey and Dema Ivanelle Sewell (Day); and his brother William Paul Sewell. He is survived by : his siblings, Brenda Ellis, Sandra Waugh, Harold Sewell and Roy Sewell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
