He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter L. Donaldson and Pearl Losh Donaldson; and his half-brother George Ables. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Collins Donaldson; his son Danny Donaldson of Glenville; his grandchildren, Taylor and Easton Donaldson of Weston; and his siblings, Cathy Sandmier (Scott) of Mineral Wells, WV, Edward Donaldson of Cox's Mill, WV and James Donaldson of Glenville, WV.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
