She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Jackson, Sr. and Velma Dale Jackson; her husband Joe Louis Cottingham; her son John Lemnuel Cottingham; her brothers, John Jackson (Betty Jackson), Richard Jackson and Lawrence Jackson; and her siblings-in-law, Birdie Jackson and James Cottingham.
She is survived by: her children, Louis Allen Cottingham (Juliette Johnson) of Westover, WV, Mark Anthony Cottingham of Scotch Plains, NJ, Marnita Cottingham (Omar Randolph) of Morgantown, WV, Kimberly Reneé Cottingham and Donaldo Benito, Jr. of Edison, NJ; her grandchildren, Keyna Melendez, Anthony C. Flagg, II, Johnea Cottingham, Shayna Melendez and Dominque Jo Cottingham; her great grandchildren, Aubree Flagg, Aja and Adrian Cottingham; and her siblings, Leonard Jackson of Morgantown, WV, Charles Jackson (Sharon) of Morgantown, WV, Kenneth Jackson (Diana) of Morgantown, WV, Bernice Woods Brown, Shirley Cottingham, Jack Daniels of Westover, Gregory Wilson and Philip Gwathney. She is also survived by nieces, nephews cousins, and friends.
The family will hold vigil in the privacy of their homes and will announce a celebration of her life at a later date when pandemic restrictions have been lifted.
