She was predeceased by : her parents, Campbell Bird and Laura M. Copen Bird; her former life partner Bobby Joe Carter; her husband Robert Ross; her daughters, Theresa and Misty Carter; and her brother Ronald Bird.

She is survived by : her children, Lisa Carter Wilson (Buddy) of Parkersburg, Robert Carter (Kim) of Dayton, OH, Jeffrey Scott Carter (Cristina) of Kamiah, ID and Debra Carter Unsinn (Terry Ayers) of Lowell, OH.; and her close friends, Fay Watson and Janie Philbrick. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
