He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Kimes and Eliza Salser Kimes; his wife Nancy Grace Kimes; his daughter Tammie Sue Wilson; and his siblings, Irene Salser, Sheila Sams and Ronald Kimes.
He is survived by: his children, Ira V. Kimes Jr. (Vicki Akers), Teresa Mae Libert and Rebecca Ann Miller (Ted); his sisters, Shirley Miller (Mike) and Janet Boggs (Bill); and his grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Alicia Taylor, Jeffrey Kimes, Justin Kimes, Brandon Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Kira Renee Nygard and Michaela Klingler. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vaughan-Kimes Funeral Home & Crematory (521 Fifth St, Parkersburg, WV 26101). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
