Mary Ann (Reed) Boyles Wonycott Obituary
Mary Ann (Reed) Boyles Wonycott, age 79, a resident of Rosemont, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday August 27, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family while under the care of WVU Hospice. She had been in declining health.
She was born on October 16, 1945, near Clemtown, the daughter of the late Robert L Reed and Clarinda (Mitchell) Reed.
Mary was twice married first, on March 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to Buey Dale Boyles, who preceded her death on March 5, 1991, second, she was united in marriage to Glover "Burt" Wonycott, who preceded her in death.
Mary was a truly remarkable woman who poured her heart and soul into her family and those around her. Her deep love for her four sons; Michael Boyles and his wife, Missie, of Clarksburg, Jeffrey Boyles of Rosemont, Randy Boyles, and wife Mary of Milton, West Virginia James Boyles and his wife Carrie of Philippi, one daughter; Cindy Boyles Barkley, of Philippi; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, her siblings; James Reed, Richard Reed, Edna Mae Robinson, and Peggy Stevens, several nieces and nephews was evident in every moment they shared, reflecting the warmth and compassion that defined her.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Mary Ann worked as a cook at various restaurants in Barbour County and Taylor County. She worked for Reidboard Brothers pants factory, and she was a homemaker. She loved to be outdoors, mowing and gardening. Mary often said that family was her greatest treasure, and she touched the hearts of many with her genuine care and compassion. Her legacy will not only live on in the memories shared by her family and friends but also in the countless lives she inspired.
Family and friends may gather at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 12 pm until 2pm., the funeral hour, Evangelist Ronald Jones will officiate, and she will be laid to rest by her first husband Buey in the Tacy Crossroads Cemetery.
