He was predeceased by : his wife Patricia Snider Watson; his parents, Willard Watson and Ethel Watson; his parents-in-law, Ray Snider and Ethel Snider Dodd; his children-in-law, Mike Payton and Becky Watson; his siblings, Margaret Hatcher, Kenneth, Robert, William and James Watson; and his siblings-in-law, Clyde Hatcher, Don Snider, Jack Spears, Blaine Spencer, Dean Hayes, Marie Watson, Gladys Snider, Garnet Parrish, Betty Spears, Jacqueline Spencer, Judy Hayes and Wanda Headley.

He is survived by : his children, John Watson (Susan), Cindy Payton and Gary Watson (Julie); his brother-in-law James Snider (Ethel) of Lumberport, WV; his grandchildren, John Watson III (Sierra), Carol McDougal (Denny), Matt Watson (Nina), Kenny Watson (Mary), Josh Watson, Megan Blancato (Guy) and Zach Watson; and his great grandchildren, Jason, Emily, Destiny, Eddie, Memphis, MacKenzie, Nevaeh, Mariah, Colton, Allytheia, Dominic, Derrek, Dalton, Shayna, Derek, Sophia, Olivia, Grace, Jordan and Henley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
