He was predeceased by: his parent Ister Richard Mowrey Sr.; and his son Elijah Mowrey. He is survived by: his parent Betty Brooks Mowrey (Doolittle); his wife Pamela K. Mowrey of Point Pleasant; his children, Grace Mowrey of Leon and Richard L. Mowrey of San Francisco, CA; his granddaughter Elizabeth DeWeese; and also, Linda E., Kenneth Ashby of Lexington, NC, Kay E. and Russ Williamson of Point Pleasant.
