He is survived by: his son Chris; his wife Pattie McCallister Gearde; his sons, David Rocco (Sandy), Joseph (Melissa Copeland) and Christopher; his stepchildren, Jeff (Cindy), Doug, Mike Yost (Sally) and Kelly Michael; his grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsea, Haley, Taylor, Anthony, Christen, Gary Anthony, Thad, Gina, Anna, Noah, Jeff, Doug, Daniel, Jessica, Garrett, Evan, Brendon, Aundrea, Matthew, Shannon and Christopher; his siblings, Josephine Gearde Pobega, Rosemary Gearde Liberto of Greentown and Frank Gearde of Virginia; his close friends, Frank Sabatino, Kenny Jones, Ziggy Composky, John Menus, Ernie Vangilder, Martin, Poochie Hoffman, Tom Harless, Dave Sapp, Gary Shepard, Louie Summers, Gary Bright, Dave Cottingham, Cleo Hamrick, Michael Cimiglia, Andy Noshyaga, Josh Jimmie and Greg "Hambone" Hamilton; and his niece Frankie McCallister. He is also survived by 5 great grandsons and 7 great granddaughters.
Dave will always be remembered for his generosity and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Marion County Deputy Sheriffs Association Shop with a Cop.
