He is survived by: his parent Mary Helen Spellman Gessler; his wife Georgia Gessler; his sons, Eric Gessler of Atlanta, GA, Greg Gessler (Virginia Vachon) of Atlanta, GA, Jeffrey Gessler (Sarah) of Jeffersonton, VA and Paul Gessler (Kristin Darwin) of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren, Adam Frederick, Emma Elizabeth, Olive Frances, James Paul, Allie Grace and River Vachon Gessler; and his siblings, Ann Greene (Thomas), Betsy Penzone (John), Ellen Gessler Tuohy (Peter) and Paul Gessler (Nathalie Kees). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
