With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harland James Freeland of Terra Alta, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2024 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by : his parents, Harland F. Freeland and Lucy Freeland (Parsons); his wife Harriet Virginia Freeland (Bolyard); and his siblings, Robert (Dot Freeland), Donald (Charlotte Freeland), Maxine (Ralph Feather) and John Jennings (Genevieve Freeland).
He is survived by : his children, Jeff, Debbie Freeland, Jennings Freeland, Ann, Richard, Lucia, Forrest Curren, Larry and Janet Freeland of Oakland, MD; his daughter-in-law Karen Bell Freeland of Terra Alta; his grandchildren, Jamie (Rodney), Amanda (Wade), Brandy (Jeff), Katie (Dave), Michael, David, Kaylan (Jason), Mallorie, Brittany (Dain), James (Kyria) and Johnathan (Lynsey); his great grandchildren, Cody (Ashley), Hunter, Andrea, Ryan, Carter, Connor, Ella, Ava, Landon, Madison, Cora, Harley, Ethan, Kenleigh, Grayson, Lainey, Harland, Grace and Bristol; his great great grandchild Cooper; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Jean McGinnis of Tennessee and Dorthy Bolyard of Kingwood; his son James Harland'Jimmy'Freeland; and his cousins, Emily Granese, Angie Freeland, Sid, Becky Friend, John, Janice Feather, Jarrod Huggins, Jay Freeland, Dr. Lewis and Amedisys of Morgantown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A reception was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Freeland United Methodist Church. A burial was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at the Freeland United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Freeland United Methodist Church.
