She was predeceased by: her parents, George Harvey Akers and Sallie Mae Greene Akers; her daughter Karen Elaine Underwood; and her siblings, C. W., Gene, Junior Akers, Myrtle Martin, Alice Martin, Josephine Vest and Ann Vest.
She is survived by: her children, Howard Underwood (Valerie) of East Dailey, Marian "Penny" Thomas of Oakland, MD, William "Billy" Underwood of Elkins, Robert "Jack" Underwood (Jennifer) of Alexandria, LA and Pamela White (Benson) of Elkins; and her sister Carol McMahan. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
