He was predeceased by: his parents, William Heilman and Hildegard Heilman (Murray); and his brother James Heilman (Lefty). He is survived by: his wife Ella Mae; his children, Mike (Virginia), Pam McDonald (Mike), Jon (Laura), Jill and Jim; his grandchildren, Carly Coldwell (Heilman), Jared Heilman, Lauren McDonald Banks, Michael McDonald, Christy Heilman Del-Ben, Ryan Heilman and Josh Heilman; his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Declan Coldwell, Jacob Heilman, Lincoln Michael Banks, Titus, Braelyn Del-Ben, James and Rose Heilman; his friend Dick; and his brother Lefty.
