He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond Jones and Thelma Jones; and his daughter Lisa Reneé Jones. He is survived by : his wife Janice Wilson Jones; his daughter Janna; his son-in-law Barry Jones; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Jeannie Jones; his sister Barbara Shutt; and his grandchildren, Caitlin (Mat), Andrew (Sarah) and Ashley (Michael). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Iredell County Sheriff's Department, Samaritan's Purse, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
