He was predeceased by : his parents, Thornton Eugene and Agnes Emma Fogus Cole; his grandson Samuel Simms; and his brother Doug Cole. He is survived by : his children, Tina Simms (Dale) and Michael Kevin Cole; his grandchildren, Laela Feury (Elby), Daniel Simms (Jessica), Michael T. Cole and Summers Cole; his stepchildren, Terri Lockhart (Greg), Tom Watkins (Tina) and Frank Watkins (Cheryl) of Lewisburg; and his stepgrandchildren, Brandon, Lauren, Matthew, Ellen and Jimmy. He is also survived by 9 step great grandchildren.
