He was predeceased by: his brothers, Gary and Dick. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Jean Miller of Buffalo; and his children, Ricky Rives of Gillette, Wyoming, Melanie Rives (Eric) of Truckee and Dreama Rives of Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Harness Funeral Chapel (351 N Adams Ave, Buffalo, WY 82834).
Donations in Melvin's memory may be made to the Buffalo High School FFA program at 29891 Old Highway 87 in Buffalo.
