He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Frederick Woodland and Emma Elizabeth Daniels Woodland; his wife Ellen Newby Woodland; his sisters, Gloria Angell and Betty Lefave; and also Shirley Newby.
He is survived by: his children, James Woodland and Valerie Winters (Del); his grandchildren, Kayla Jones (Garrett), Cody Woodland (Alexandra), Kassidy Miranda (Francisco), Cortney Woodland, Karlie Woodland, Shelby Winters (Kevin) and Noah Winters; his great grandchildren, Reed, Blaine, Landon, Adalynn and Tanner; his siblings, Clea-Joyce Orton, Barbara Herrick, Wanda Holmes and Cyril Woodland; and his siblings-in-law, Rita Newby and Chadd Newby.
