He was predeceased by: his parents, DeVere Taggart Hinckley and Madge Marchant Hinckley; his daughter Kniessa Christine Hinckley; and his brother Burgess Benedict Hinckley. He is survived by: his son Becket Benedict (Gingee); his wife Sarah of Rexburg; his daughters, Lisa Bentzin, Carissa Keith, Talia Haughton (Ryan), Alicia Tsukamoto (Sam) and Vanessa Cauffman (Charlie); and his siblings, Alexandra Hinckley Cramer, Maurine Hinckley-Cole, Allison Munkres (Pony), Frank Hinckley (Karen) and Schuyler Hinckley (Ann). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
