He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Elmer Uhls and Eunice Smith; and his siblings, Geneva, Kenneth Uhls, Bill Uhls and James.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Uhls of Green River; his children, Chris Uhls of Goodyear and Jennifer Gillespie of Aurora; his sister Dorothy Goodin of Wichita; and his grandchildren, Hunter James Gillespie and Colton James Uhls.
