He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomasa Chavez and Ramon Porras; his siblings, Martin Lerma Chavez and Conzuelo Lerma Chavez; and his stepdaughter Elizabeth Ann Carol Ratcliff.
He is survived by: his former wife Elva Emilia Sanchez Valles; his wife Paula Lerma of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his siblings, Ofelia Lerma Sanchez of Mexico, Jesus Jose Lerma Chavez of Mexico, Reyes Blas Lerma Chavez of Mexico and Raul Lerma of Mexico; his children, Juan Ramon Lerma Sanchez (Bernice Villa Yama) of New Mexico, Elva Janeth Lerma Sanchez (Guadalupe Grado) of Mexico and Refugio Lerma Sanchez (Cesar Fernadez) of Mexico; his stepdaughter Cadie Maria Ratcliff Martinez (Robert Martinez) of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and his aunt Yema Casas. He is also survived by several cousins as well as nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; one expecting great granddaughter.
He died following a courageous battle with Covid.
