He is survived by : his wife Angia Abbott Katechis; his sons, Randy Katechis, Theo Goodin (Michelle), Gus Katechis (Nicole), Chris Katechis and Chase Katechis (Kelley); his granddaughters, Trinity, Savannah Goodin, Cora Rose and Constance Katechis; and his sisters, Rose Katechis Karagan and Dr. Nia Katechis Terezakis.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (1721 Mt Meigs Rd, Montgomery, AL 36107). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Mt. Meigs Road in Montgomery of which his father was a founding member.

“Sorry for your loss. I was in the Lanier band with Theo. Saw him last in 2017 when visiting my dying cousin in Montgomery. Was in Montgomery a couple of weeks ago for a funeral and asked about Theo when we ate at Chris’s. I ate hundreds of hot dogs there growing up especially as a teen when I ate four every time we ate there - Four with chocolate milk. George Haynes”
