We bid farewell to Terrence M. Sweeney of Newark, Delaware, born in Wilmington, Delaware, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 5, 2024 at the age of 70. Terrence touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by : his parents, Eileen Sweeney (Sabotta) and James Sweeney. He is survived by : his wife Jane McGonegal; his children, Julianne Barclay (Andrew) of Swarthmore, PA, Meg Keating (Ryan) of Hockessin, Brendan Sweeney (Elissa Tuerk-Sweeney) of Kennett Square, PA, Sarah Day Holmes (Robert DeGroat) and James Holmes (Meredith) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Ryan, Jake, Alex, Sawyer, Riley, Connor, Cassidy, Henry, Patrick, Emily, Lauren and Teddy; his siblings, Susan Szczerba (Stanley) of Wilmington, Margaret Sweeney-Baker (Mark Baker) of Wilmington, Kevin Sweeney (Mary Jo) of Townsend and James Sweeney of Wilmington; and his friend Dan Creedon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Docklands Riverfront (110 West St, Wilmington, DE 19801).
