He was predeceased by : his mother Virginia Skinner; his stepson Lennon; his siblings, Betty and Butch; and his former life partner Cheryl.

He is survived by : his father Jack Skinner; his brothers, Stephen Skinner and Stuart Skinner (Christine Wisniewski Skinner); his sons, John Michael Skinner II (Tasha) and Ian Matthew Skinner (Julia); his stepchildren, Michael Wisniewski (Brittany), Schuyler Wisniewski (Susan), Brooke Finney (Robert), Noelle Wisniewski, Caiden DiRusso, Teagan DiRusso and William DiRusso; and his wife Christine. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Faries Funeral Directors (29 S Main St, Smyrna, DE 19977). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
