It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Flanagan (Wilmington, Delaware), who passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank D'Onofrio and Lena D'Onofrio (Massaro); her son Richard Flanagan; her brother Maurice (Flo); her nephew David; her siblings, Vincent, Francis and Louise Zakreski (Charles); her niece Patricia Cumpston; her great-niece Christine Cumpston; her sister Rose Marie Campbell (Bill); her niece Lisa McGonigle Qualls; her sister-in-law Carlene D'Onofrio; and her friends, Mary Stenta Merlonghi and Arlene Brown.

She is survived by : her brother Bob; and her nephew Rick (Donna). She is also survived by family, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church (301 N Bancroft Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19805). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at the Cathedral Cemetery (2400 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, DE 19805). She was a very talented bookkeeper, having a keen mind and keeping her very accurate personal checkbook well into her late-90's. In early 2021, at the height of the Covid pandemic, she left her home in Union Park Gardens and moved into Lodge Lane Assisted Living in Bellefonte where she found another community of caring neighbors and loving staff members.
