He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Morgan and Welda S. Rush; his stepfather Denton O. Rush; and his brother Don. He is survived by : his wife Carol S. Rush; his son Joel B. Rush; his siblings, Larry (Ann) and Cynthia Mercer (Edward); and his aunt Linda Altman. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hardage-Giddens (11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
