She was predeceased by : her parents, Lucious Russell and Mary Lee Gates; and her son Eric Hayes. She is survived by : her children, Wanda Hayes Hogsett (Frederick), Otis Hayes, Jr. (late Sonja) and Craig Hayes, Sr. (Latrecia); and her siblings, Lucious Gates, Jr., Jacob Russell, Tommy Gates, Oliver Gates, Lillie Mae Griffith, Josephine Robinson and Juanita Gates. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Viewing was held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (5 Birkenhead Rd, Savannah, GA 31407). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Dwelling Church (115 E Lathrop Ave, Savannah, GA 31415).

Donations are preferred in place of flowers, but all are welcome.
