With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James R. Tyrrell Sr. of Wellesley, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 8, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his sisters, Ann Tyrrell Abely and Patricia Tyrrell; and his parents, Joseph Tyrrell and Mary Tyrrell. He is survived by : his wife Laura Duffey Tyrrell; his children, James Richard Tyrrell, Jr. (Ambrey Rice) of Boston, Alexandra Tyrrell Shaw (Ian) of Watertown and Kerry Anne Tyrrell (Keshav Ahuja) of Boston; and his siblings, Joseph P. Tyrrell (Kate) of Sudbury and Mary T. Coughlin (Chris) of Wellesley.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home (477 Washington St, Wellesley, MA 02482). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Church (502 Washington St, Wellesley, MA 02482).
