He was predeceased by : his parents, Vincent Rivela and Viola Rivela (Bucci); and his former life partner Marylin Rivela (Corradino). He is survived by : his wife Sheila (Morgan); his sons, Jim Rivela (Jenn), Jenn, Steven Rivela (Erin Stewart) and Erin Stewart; his stepchildren, Christine Casale (Jim), Cathleen Curran (Stephen), Stephen and Joe Morgan (Kathleen); his brother Arnold Rivela (Nancy Jolivet); his nephew Matthew; his niece Jennifer Rivela; and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Steven (Cassie), Ryan, James, Joseph, Ceila, Emily (Cameron), Matthew, Thomas and Stephanie.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home (263 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony's Church (851 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801).

Remembrances may be made in Vin's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
