It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James R. Michels Sr. (Muskegon, Michigan), who passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Edward and Arlene Violet Michels (Bitson); his son Russell LeRoy Ketchum; and his siblings, Bob, Don, Ruth and Lynn.

He is survived by : his wife Sue of Ravenna; his son James Raymond; his grandchildren, Stacey Mischler (Joe) of Ravenna, Miranda (Codey), Rachael (Raul), Lily and Jamie; his great grandchildren, Alayna, Matteo and Aria; his siblings, Larry Michels of Ravenna and Mickey Maycroft of Coopersville; and his mother-in-law Jean Swindell of Hart. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ravenna American Legion (3590 Conklin St, Ravenna, MI 49451).
